A Writer’s Life: Just Write.

If you want to write, write.

If you’re waiting for the perfect time, it will never come.

If you’re waiting for spare time, you’ll never find it.

If you’re waiting to finish reading that one last craft book, there will always be another.

If you’re waiting for confidence, it will come.

If there is a book inside you, let it out. It wants to be free.

Someone else wants to read it and they can’t until you write.

Don’t be me.

Don’t wait for a good place to write, and time to concentrate.

Don’t wait to finish your entire block of research.

Don’t wait until you finish that online course about outlining.

You don’t need another blank notebook, use a sheet of notebook paper.

You don’t need a faster computer.  You can use what you already have.

You don’t need coffee. Oh, well maybe you do.  Go make some.

You don’t need special software.  You can write in Word or Google Docs.

Use an online thesaurus.  Hell, use Google.  Type in the word and voila~

Use a crayon on drawing paper to do your outline.

Use the time while you’re making dinner to craft dialogue in your head.

Use a story structure template from Google.  There are thousands online.

Think about your characters in the shower.

Think about your plot as you fall asleep.

Think about the book title while you’re getting ready for bed.

Think about your publishing strategy while you’re driving to work.

Let your creativity shine.

Let your mind run amok with the possibilities of success.

Let your soul be heard.

Let your fear step aside to make room for joy.

Let yourself write. C’mon. You know you want to.

Just write.

There’s nothing holding you back from writing your book aside from yourself.

Get out of your own way.

You will never know if you can until you try.

Just write.
